2 and 3 skein batches.
this is probably the last update before pgh knit and crochet. i need to dye early next week, which leaves no time for re-skeining or picture taking!
falkland! 4 braids/1 lb of each
going up in the shop today.
this week’s update is the same as last – falkland fiber club openings. i will be taking these openings down on the 10th so that i have enough time to dye and get everything out by the 20th. get them while they’re there :)
and the eye candy is some of the fruits of my dyeing this last week. i dyed 14 lbs of falkland, one colorway per pound.
Falkland wool is a merino cross that comes from the Falkland Islands. It is a squishy, soft spin with lots of bounce, and a longer staple length than merino. Falkland is my most consistent source of wool that is good for the sheep, the environment, and for us. The Falkland I buy does not have the chemical processing that is used in most commercially processed wool and so retains some lanolin and a bit of a sheepy smell when wet. Mmmm. Sheepy.
How does the club work?
What you get.
Each subscription to the fiber club lasts 3 months (in this instance, January-March). You get 4 oz of Falkland wool in an exclusive cosymakes colorway, hand dyed by me with Greener Shades Professional Acid Dyes. You may instead choose to get a double batch (8 oz). If I have left overs of the colorway, they will not make it into my shop until at least 6 months later.

most notably, i had dyed some larger quantities of snapdragon sport, so there’s more than one skein of each of these.
and the new rainbow chard light, which i didn’t bring with me.. only one skein of each since it was my first experimental run, but i’m itching to steal two and make some sport weight colorwork mittens out of them. which two colors would you match up to make mitts?
have a great wednesday!
introducing the first trial run of Rainbow Chard Light

24 sts to 4 inches

also included in this update – larger runs (2 or 3 skeins each) of Snapdragon Sport for all your shawl, scarf, hat, child’s sweater knitting, anything you can think of knitting needs. my next goal is to get some sweater lots of worsted dyed up!
hope you have a lovely lovely thanksgiving!
