burgh knitting and crochet

hi all!  i’ll be at the pgh knit and crochet festival this weekend.  if you’re around pgh, hope to see you there!

i will be sharing the booth with my friends ana and gwen.

stephanie of SpaceCadet Creations has a table in the sponsor section and maggie of burgh baby gear has a booth right next to ours. should be fun and it’s great to see more local indie fiber artists who don’t do many shows making appearances. i’m also glad to see the number of farms that will be there.

and in more burgh fibery news, there’s a new knitting video-cast to watch called 90% knitting. lisa is a fabulous knitter who has done more than one test knit for me. and she talks about my book and the farm wool fiber club on episode two, if you’re interested. that episode can be found here.

Bazaar Bizarre Cleveland

this weekend i will be in cleveland with all the normal craft fair fare –  the yarn, the hats, the book… and with my friend gwen for company.  it should be a fun show and you should come see us if you’re around.  click here for details of the show.

here’s a flashback photo from the last time gwen and i were there together… 2 years ago.

i’ll have to spin a bunch for the yarn shows in feb and march, that’s for sure. but i must say, i have loads of the hand dyed stuff, so it fills the spot.

bonnets!

i have a bunch of my other style bonnet left from last year, but only this one of the pixie hood style.

Buy Handmade for Great Karma

since handmade arcade is not happening this year, this is the only craft fair i’ll be at in pittsburgh this holiday season.

i’ll have a wide variety of stuff, including yarn, spinning fiber, hats for all sized heads etc.  the woolie.  the usual suspects ;)

when: This Saturday!
where: Yoga Matrika – 6520 Wilkins, Squirrel Hill
time: 2-8

check out the facebook page over here to see all of the other great artists participating.

homespun yarn party

this show is always so quick!  i got to spend the night with my spinning guru friend lauren, her husband, and their baby (the original baby belle by the way!)… and came home with this beauty.

matchless

lauren got the 40th anniversary cherry version and was kind enough to let me purchase her old one from her.  i will be able to have much much more control over my yarns with this wheel.  can’t wait to start playing!  thanks lauren.  it will get plenty of love and exercise ;)

as for the show, it is always well organized and fun.  my two handspun shelves went from full to a rather pathetic 8 skeins over the 5 hours.  i got to meet all sorts of fabulous fibery folks, but was especially happy to finally shake real hands with sarah and lolly.  i also loved seeing those who bought from me last year and hearing stories of what they did with the handspun they bought.  i’m excited to see all the striping knitting out there – since subtle stripes and shifting stripes were most of what i had.  yay stripes!
