knitting!

still working on the pi shawl.  i changed to lace for the outside section and at one point messed it up and had to rip all 576 stitches for 2 1/2 rounds.  ugh.  but now i’m back in business.  i need 10 repeats of the lace, and i have 7 done.  yay!  getting there.

pi shawl

pondering making this sweater for myself for october, breastfeeding, cuddling, and slinging. not a pattern i would have even thought about making until i saw the one in the link above.  brilliant!!  i even bought the pattern already.

the other thing i’ve been knitting in my dreamlike state can be described as a square. an 8×8, specifically.

charity squares

these are for the charity knitting group through my church… 50/50 acrylic wool, and most importantly, washable.  i like this yarn, whatever it is.  a friend donated it to my cause, and i’m donating it back to this cause. i guess what goes around comes around!

i’ve also been working on and off on some little knits for the 4!! babies i know are due this june-august.  you probably won’t be allowed to see those until delivery of both the children (ha!) and the knit.

what are you knitting?

  1. I’ve been knitting commission pieces for FOREVER! I’m not complaining: I like the folks I’m working with, and we all know I like knitting. The sad thing is that I can’t blog about them, as they’re test knitting for patterns, or are going to be photographed for pattern sales. It’s so sad to not be able to share. ;(

  2. Hej!
I am crocheting a scarf in alpaca, inventing as I go along :-) Piture tomorrow.
Love from Germany. Oh, and put the light out tonight 8.30 till 9.30!

  3. I’m all to familiar with frogging lately since I’ve had to rip back two socks at various points in their construction. Ugh…

I’m also debating knitting up some squares for various charities. Just have to decide which ones and find the time to do it.

  4. that does indeed look to be a wonderful multi-purpose mama sweater! im just now finishing my february lady (one more sleeve!) and thinking it might be pan’s turn for a new knit…

  5. I just got two new teapots to make sweaters for. They both have interesting shapes and my brain is already thinking of what to do with them.

  6. I made that sweater — the Rayne wrap — for my cousin when she had a baby (two months ago friday). The best part is that the only measurement you really need is shoulder to shoulder on your back. I think its a brilliant pattern for the ever changing pregnant/post-birth body.

    Congrats, by the way!

  7. I am knitting a baby hat and a scarf for me. I have 2 socks to finish and yarn to start short summer socks. But mostly I’m spinning to knit for fall.
