do you have a fabulous local yarn store?

hi all, thanks for your lovely comments on my blog over the last few posts! unfortunately i’m a bit backlogged in my responses, but i’ll get there :)

variations on a turnip

on to business. currently almost all of the projects from the book are at my local yarn store in preparation for the book release party. yesterday, during knitting group, christine convinced me to send it out as a trunk show. so this is a call for yarn stores. if you would like to see the knits from this book and are a yarn store owner or a person who has a fabulous local yarn store that just needs this trunk show, please feel free to be in touch and we’ll see if we can make it happen. this will be a show that is more likely to sell books than yarn, but i will include yarn substitutions for my own hand dyed and handspun yarns wherever i can.

root vegetable hat

i call these root vegetable shaped hats the hat that started it all… they are by far my most asked for pattern and one of my first ‘designs’ perhaps? all variations that i do come from playing with needle sizes from 7-9, changing yarns and changing the number of increases. there is also a flat top variation

back alley hat aka the knapweed hat

and a pointy worsted variation

sweet pea hat

both in the book

  1. hi cosy — pre-ordered your book just after i began reading your blog. it came over the weekend, and it is wonderful — fills an important gap in the resources that are out there. i’m bringing very little with me to base camp (where i live for work in the summer), but your book and my ever-growing bag of odds and ends are coming along. looking forward to knitting some one-of-a-kind hats and playing with embellishment! congratulations.

  3. Hello!

I work at Hilltop Yarn in Seattle, and I started reading your blog when you visited our store months ago. I would love to have your trunk show here! If you could give us a time frame of when it could be on the west coast we would make sure to have books in at that time.

I hope to hear from you soon!

    Thanks,
