another thesis knit. a quick one to go along with the shawl. made from this roving. in comparison, both projects use garter stitch. in the prarie shawl it seems to me that it is used because it is simple and easy and therefore fits into daily life well. garter stitch also holds in heat well because it creates its own thickness. they both use it because it is flat and reversible. however, the scarf relies upon the fact that you can wrap it around your neck as many times as needed to be more or less warm.
on that note, i’m very thankful that there are quick, satisfying knits in both the thesis and the book. i’ve a lot of work to do and it sometimes makes me a bit nervous. i’m pondering giving myself a certain number of knitting projects and patterns to finish a week. yikes!
