subtle stripes mittens
January 15, 2010i’m going to split my subtle stripes skeins into 2 so they can easily be made into mittens as such.
as you can see, i did cut – for the thumb and when i wasn’t going to get to the last color unless i cut. i should have made a purple a bit shorter on the one, but eh. i like them anyhow. certainly not machine spun ;) maybe i should make shorter stripes for some? what do you think?
these will be a sample for the next two shows and then i’m going to wear them! they’re fabulously fuzzy because they are made from my friend cindy’s shetland. can’t you just see me making new samples every year?

Oh lovely! And yes, shorter stripes for some. I love these larger blocks of colors on the ones you’ve posted, but love knitting with shorter lengths of color. Actually, I just love both options.
:)
haha – it is fun to have options, isn’t it?
I think they are beautiful!
Those are gorgeous!
Those just look so fun and happy to wear.
I vote for a combination of narrow and wide stripes. Variety is the spice of live after all.
I think those are beautiful! They fulfill my current high-level need for color. :)
Oooh, they’re lovely! I think shorter stripes would look fantastic, too, but these are great.
Also, those semi-solids in the background look awesome.
