reflection hat
April 30, 2009A simple and charming hat reminiscent of the twinkling reflection of stars on water. I recommend using a semi-solid, handspun, or subtle hand dyed yarn for the contrasting color.
Yarn: aran weight wool – approx. 80 (90, 100) yds (73 (82,91.5) m) main color, 30 (40, 50) yds (27.5 (36.5, 45.72) m) contrast color. Malabrigo, handspun, Lamb’s Pride Worsted, etc.
Needles: size 8 US (5 mm) 16 in. (40.6 cm) circular and a set of dpns of the same size, or whatever size needles you need to get gauge
Gauge: 4 ¾ sts/in. (2.5 cm) over colorwork pattern
Sizes: S – 21 in. (53.3 cm) head (M – 22 in. (55.9 cm) head, Large – 23 in. (58.4 cm) head)
