downpour
September 11, 2007hat number five. we indeed awoke to a downpour and it is still very loudly downpouring outside (as in i can barely hear my roommates talk because the windows are open).
and these pictures were taken during a downpour, so i had to take a gagillion just to get these three
and so this is the downpour hat
ingredients:
mountain colors mill ends
green-blue my hand dyed recycled sweater wool
embroidery – lamb’s pride
size – 6-18 mo.
one of my favorite techniques when it comes to roll brim hats is to disrupt the brim in some way. on this one, i used extra embroidery to make part of the brim flatter than the rest. i *love* these colors together. they are, of course, richer in person – but this is the best i could do in a downpour :)
i hope the rain stops some time today because i’m planning to go to the knitting store to try out a knitting group this afternoon. i guess i could just take my umbrella or wear my goretex…
