in the mail!
May 1, 2007yay buttons! i splurged a little while back at this really cool shop on etsy called vintage necessities. i generally pick up my buttons at thrift stores and just around, but ever the sucker for bright colors and history, i could not longer resist these beautiful ones! i have them all labeled with what they are made of and what year they are from (so cool!) onĀ flickr if you’d like to see.
we had a successful sweater ripping day yesterday and i’m proud to announce that four more adults (and three child helpers) have joined the sweater recycling ranks. it was lovely out so we did our ripping picnic style. our ranks are increasing and we now have almost enough people to take over the world…

Wow, those red buttons are gorgeous. I can see where all my money is going to go now. As if I need more vintage buttons – I never do anything with them. At least they don’t take up much space!
These are wonderful! I have one or two of them myself, actually — the blue in the centre (with the little circle of circles), I have in black. I love those ’40s plastics!
Oh, I love those blues! And group ripping….love it!!
What an awesome idea! A ripping party :)!
You must have an abundance of good hand knit sweater candidates to host a party?
