i really feel that craft is something that should be freely passed from person to person. it’s about community, sharing in something important, and creating something beautiful. for that reason, i consider it part of my thesis to teach spinning/dyeing/knitting for free to those in my community. we’ll see how that theory changes when i move next and need a job!
as to life in vancouver, i jokingly describe myself as a disease. this lovely woman, my most recently infected, is my friend amanda. on mondays i go knit at her house while she paints. in this unclear photo she is drop spindling in her kitchen. we spin a bit too- drink tea, ward off her cats, etc.

So do you already teach people for free in your community :)?
yep- that’s why amanda knows :). have been since i moved here 2 1/2 years ago. the thesis is the fruition of lots of thinking and teaching.
oh, but the best disease ever!
